I have this quirk with broccoli. I will love it, like can't get enough of it love it. Love it so much I could marry it love it. For a while. And then one day, I will smell it cooking and get totally disgusted. Then I can go years without touching the stuff. Weird right? I know, but still it happens. I do the same thing with canned tuna. Go figure.
The plotting of the GrowDammit Orchard has begun. We already have a fully mature apple, and our fig is in the ground and doing quite well. Last night we planted the cherry tree in the vacinity of the fig. And we put apricot sproutage in front of the back garden, which will be moved to the middle of the back yard next year for more sunlight. The back of the back garden is getting too much shade, and the back of the front garden is getting too much shade. We didn't account for tree foilage in our daily sun/shade analysis in early spring...when there were no leaves on the trees.
Now we are figuring out where to put the berry bushes. Atilla will make an appearance this weekend. We're going to clear the yard behind the fig and in front of the Wannabe Compost Area for them and mulch it. When those suckers start to grow, we're not going to be able to mow around them.
Next...Man down (I'll let Ted fill you on the lawn mower vs. the apricot). And Rufus Dragon brings a whole new level to lazy.
'bout time you got back to work! if bob and i had slacked like this, we would have NEVER had 100 corks....
ReplyDeleteNow THAT'S some funny shit.... (Jill's my hero.)
ReplyDeleteYeah.... The apricot tree; Well... It was an Apricot tree, now it's an apricot stick. (I ran that bitch over.) On to the next subject.
It's 5:12 and I'm waiting to listen out for the neighbor to do his daily shout out. Whenever he does it... I'll let you guys know. (It never fails.) He's like clockwork.
Rufus Dragon.... What more could I possibly add. This dog cracks me up. You can always tell when he's been rooting around because he always comes back up to the deck with sticks and shit hanging outta his fur. Leaves all over him, Dirt on his nose. What a life. Since we're on the subject of animals... Our turtles are livin' the good life. We cleaned their tank the other day and now they're looking all fat and happy. The eldest spawn gave the dog the moniker of "Rufus Dragon" so the youngest wanted to name something.... So here come the turtles. "Magnet" and "Flower" are pretty cool, they really don't do that much but as far as turtles go... They're pretty cool. You always hear that turtles are slow; Not the case... These guys are pretty fast. I can't tell one from the other though. Our friend Anna says that her dog brings turtles home and she started painting numbers on their shells with nail polish; pretty clever idea but in this case.... (I really don't give a shit which is which.) They don't ask for much so I don't give 'em much. Food....Every now and again. I have no idea when to feed turtles so I'm kinda playing it by ear.
I forgot.... The neighbor just did his shout out. I WOULD ask what that's all about but you know the old adage... "Don't ask the question if you don't wanna hear the answer." The longer that I sit here and think about it... The funnier the shit gets.
